Using part of your home for your scrapbooking area let it show your unique personality

I always feel like I need a big area when I’m doing some scrapbooking or craft project. It’s not that the coffee table is too small but I feel that it is easier to get creative when I can lay out all my stuffs on a big table. I don’t like doing it on the carpet for fear that I’ll suddenly spill the glue on it. That will be a nightmare isn’t it. So, as a creative scrapbooker, do you have a favorite spot in your home where you like to be when you are doing your scrapbook?

Do you have a place where you can store your scrapbooking supplies and do your work?

Not all people have the budget and luxury to have a big area dedicated for their scrapbooking room. So a small area should be good enough for you to get in the zone. Even if it is ‘small’, you should still be able to put in some essential items in there. After all, you don’t want to have to zig-zag around the house when trying to complete your creative scrapbooking project.

You’ll need a flat, hard and preferably large surface.

A desk or table will be good so that you can put your stuffs on it. The bigger it is, the more stuff you can spread on it so a good solid working surface is something that you’ll find useful. You’ll find that a flat surface is very easy to use for all the cutting, tracing and gluing work :)

Don’t forget the shelves to hold your jars and storage container

Shelves mounted on the wall can be used to hold all the jars and containers that you use for storing your scrapbooking materials. It helps your place to look organized too.

What type of place should you consider for your scrapbooking area?

In my opinion, you should not use your basement or garage for your scrapbooking room or area because they are normally damp and can easily damage your scrapbooking supplies.

After spending your hard earned money buying all your scrapbooking materials, the last thing you want to is to exposed it to too much moisture or sunlight as these elements can ruined and aged your scrapbooking stuffs faster.

Take note of temperature and humidity control, sun exposure and the possibility of flooding when setting up your scrapbooking area. You want your scrapbooks to last longer right? So, try to include these factors in your planning.

Before you start adding stuffs to your scrapbook area/room, do your planning first. Plan how and where you are going to put the table, shelves and the movable storage. These simple steps will save you from a lot of headache later. Be creative and let your scrapbooking area show part of your creativity streaks
