Making the Most of Your Photographs When Scrapbooking – Here’s the tips

When you do creative scrapbooking, you cannot run away from using photos in your project. Choose good quality photos for your scrapbook.

So, how do you define good quality photos..

For a start, the photos should illustrate the theme that you desire for your album. You can use digital image, instant photos from polaroids or even black and white.

Having said that, be mindful of the chemicals within the photos. Make sure that that the photo papers are lignin and acid free. Choosing these type of photos paper will ensure that the photos will last longer. You want to preserve your scrapbook so please pay attention to these when doing your scrapbook.

Since you cannot control the chemical and papers use in the photo shops, why not use digital photos and print them out directly on lignin-free and acid-free paper.

These speciality photos papers will be more expensive as compared to normal photos printing paper but it will be worth it. You want the photos that you choose to place in your scrapbook to still have its color years to come so you’ll want to use the best materials possible.

Since the photos that you use in your scrapbook will be the permanent feature in your scrapbook, it is advisable to use copies of your photos.

What if you only have hard copy of these photos?

Well, technology has come to your rescue. Use scanner to scan your photos and print thems on lignin-free and acid-free paper for the best results. This way, you’ll have backup copies of your photos in case something goes wrong during your scrapbooking project.

Ok… I have one tip for you if you have digital photos. Use software for editing.  You can actually manipulate your photos using photo editing software to make it more interesting. Again, don’t forget to keep the original copy in a safe place. Even if you have colored photos, you can make them black and white or even sephia. These will give you that old-fashioned look.

One last creative scrapbooking tips for you – try cutting and cropping your photos

This is fun because it will add interesting shapes to your scrapbook pages and sends a special message to the viewer to take a closer look.

Whatever you do with your scrapbbok, you need to creatively arrange and present your photos. This will enhance the overall look of your album and make your scrapbook more interesting. If you do it nicely, you can turn your project into a professional-looking scrapbooking album.
