Creative scrapbooking ideas using alphabet and font stickers

Some people are not comfortable using their own handwriting to decorate the scrapbooking pages. Fear not as today’s creative scrapbooking ideas will look into how you can use alphabet and font stickers to create beautiful pages that you’ll be proud of. Just because your handwriting is not so cool doesn’t mean that you should ditch scrapbooking as you can use and gather a wide selection of templates and stickers to achieve beautiful and creative scrapbooking pages.

Using alphabet and font stickers for your scrapbooking pages

You can get varieties of alphabet and fonts stickers from your nearby craft shops. The alphabets stickers come in many sizes, shapes colors and fonts. Some of them have shaded background that can easily match your typical scrapbooking papers.

Sometimes, you can also get stickers with flowers, animals and cartoon as part of each individual letter. These types are normally more expensive compared to normal alphabet stickers but you can use them for special theme scrapbooking.

‘Artsy’ types of alphabet stickers are good for theme pages. You can get birthday, graduation and Christmas themes stickers at reasonable price. I once saw red candy type alphabet stickers during the Christmas seasons and they look really great when use on white background as they stand out more.

Alphabet and fonts stickers are not expensive and they are very easy to use. Just peel the backside stickers and you can place them whenever you like on your scrapbooking pages.

With alphabets and fonts stickers, a novice can start their own creative scrapbooking pages in no times. Handwriting should not be deterrents to stop your creative juice from flowing.  Have you start you first scrapbook yet?

Creative Scrapbookers should not ignore acid free paper

You might be tempted to use the normal plain paper that you can buy at a very cheap price in your stationery store and when you compare the price tag to the scrapbooking paper, you found this specialized paper is more expensive. Well, scrapbooking paper is normally acid and lignin free so that explains the higher price tag. If you are creative scrapbooker and want your scrapbooking projects to last long then you should not ignore the acid free paper.

This type of paper is intended for the best preservation of your photos and memorabilia so don’t skimp on this.

What does acid free means to you?

If the paper is acid free it will be typically be neutral in pH or at most, between 6 and 7 (which is the neutral pH).

Where does the acid comes from?

The scrapbooking paper is made of wood pulp that contains natural acids. During production, calcium is added to neutralize the acid during the treatment process.
The paper may also be buffered to keep additional acids from forming.

Since we want our creative scrapbooks to last long, it makes sense to use acid free scrapbooking paper in our project. Manufacturers will normally have an ‘acid free’ label on the packaging to differentiate this special paper with regular paper. If you use acid free paper, you’ll also notice that they will not yellow and deteriorate easily as regular paper. This type of paper will not damage your photos too, so try to consider them in your scrapbooking budget.

You can always creatively use them in your scrapbook. Wrappers are a good example as they normally have variety of colors and pattern that will add personality to your page.

Paper and magazine cutouts

I like to use magazine and newspaper cutouts for my project. I cut special dates, phrases and pictures too and use them for various themes like newborns, weddings and birthday. All you need is some creativity to play with these and create your unique piece.

Most of them are not acid free though. So it’ll be good idea to separate them from your photos or put some kind of protector to it.
