Not all people has a big space for their scrapbooking spots. Sometimes, we make use of nooks and corners to create our own little heaven that we call scrapbook “room” or closet. I was looking around the net to find ideas for small scrapbooking corner because I don’t have my own house yet. I’m still renting at the moment but I figured that I need my own space for ideas.
I found lots of interesting advice on how to make use of small scrapbook room. I thought maybe I should list them in my blog so that others can benefit from it too.
Here are 3 tips that you might want to consider if you have small scrapbooking room:
1) Put your shelves on the wall
Your bare wall can be put to good use and you shouldn’t waste this space. Why not get shelves mounted to the wall so that you can use them to place your bins and boxes? You can have lots of shelves but make sure you don’t put very heavy items on it. Now, you can save your floor space for some other scrapbook material
Store your embellishment into jars and small bins and line them up on the shelves. See through jars make it easy for you to identify your stuffs but you can also put some label if you don’t have one.
2) Use movable storage
Store scrapbooking materials and tools that you always use inside a movable storage. You can then roll them nearer to your table when you’re working on a scrapbook project. When not in use, you can stow it away.
The multi-layer storage is also great to store your scrapbook paper. You can use folders to separate different paper types and colors. That way, it is easier for you to find the one that you want to use and it’ll look more organized
3) Plenty of light and good air circulation
The small space can feel very crowded and stuffy if you have lots of material crammed into it. You don’t want this to limit your creativity or cause you scrapper’s block. So, it is important to have good lighting and nice window that you can open if you need some fresh air. The light can be ceiling mounted and also put on the table. Plenty of lights can help to prevent strained eyes so invest in a good one
Hope these three tips will be useful in helping you organize your small scrapbooking space. I’ll write more on this topic if I find anymore useful tips
